Beatnix Inside and Out

Here's some pictures I took tonight of Beatnix. This is such a beautiful coffeehouse. It's really spacious, clean, lit just right, and put together with style and flair. Here's a rundown of the picture collage from top left to right:

The first picture is that of the professors of Art at MCC. This picture costs $300. Come by and check it out along with the others. A lot of talent in this place. *Note* The art pictures on this post are no longer available.

The second picture is the stage area where performances take place. It has a mic, guitar stand and two large speakers above the bookshelves. The hardwood floors are shiny and sturdy enough for a nice dance performance of some type I'm gathering.

The third picture shows the t-shirts the staff wear as well as t-shirts and other product for sale to the public. Their logo is unique and funky.

The fourth picture is that of more art from the MCC Students.

The fifth picture is a picture of mocha and cappichino mugs on the wall. Yummy!

The sixth picture is that of an extra room that can be reserved for meetings or private affairs. It has a big screen t.v. with dvd in it with chairs and tables and seats about 25 people.

The seventh picture is where the sandwiches, coffees and teas are made to order. They have other items on the menu, but you need to stop by to take a peek yourself.

The eighth picture was a sign that was on the counter top.

The ninth picture shows a good portion of the entire coffeeshop's main seating area. The red/maroon accents from the ceiling and chairs adds a nice flare for the artsy atmosphere.

The tenth picture is one of the seating areas by the front of the coffeehouse. The couple in the picture were sitting cozily together chatting quietly.

The eleventh picture is the outside, that has small intimate round tables and chairs.

The twelfth picture starts the rotation of the collage again. Nice pictures of the place, huh??

What do you think???

Beatnix Coffeehouse, Waco, Tx

Well, my sister Jen and I found a possible venue for our poetry and songs. It's a new sandwich and coffeehouse that's been opened for about three months here in Waco. It's called Beatnix Coffeehouse. Their logo is "Where Friends Meet". They are located at 1826 Lakeshore Drive, 76708. The phone number is 254-755-6690. Todd Millerd is the General Manager and Penney Simpson is the Proprietor. We've searched far and wide for a place and at the recommendation I believe a few weeks ago of a really nice Baylor student teacher, we were hipped to this spot. Here's a picture of the building sign which carries their logo.

Here's their regular hours:

They are open Monday through Saturday from 7am-11am. They are closed on Sundays, except for private engagements. You'd have to contact them for more info on parties, receptions and the such.

They are a no-smoking establishment, I'm sure for a variety of reasons. My guesses would be, one being the nice suede loveseats and laid back relaxed atmosphere they want to project. The place is too beautiful to have the aura of being smoke filled. But they have plenty of chairs and tables outside with ash trays and those neat little black butt towers.

Here's what kind of payment they accept along with cash:

Waco Poetry and Music

I am dedicating this blog to poetry and music that my sister and I are involved in. I look forward to sharing our findings with those who'd like to express themselves in creative ways in our community.
