For the moment that is. I'm teaching officially and the Spring will be busier than the fall, as we prepare for the TAKS test. With that being said, I've been unable to host open mic poetry at Beatnix for months. Penney, the owner, has taken over the reigns and I'm sure they have plenty to offer in the new year. Until then, keep Waco full of life and culture by supporting anything that has to do with poetry, music, art, and more.

I appreciate you all trying to come together for 2008 and create an Open Mic Night in Waco for poets. There aren't many venues for the people here to express their creative talents, but I know many who look for this type of opportunity [Myself Included]. Hopefully, Beatnix will launch a 2008 Open Mic Night in the future. After living in Chicago, I can tell you all now, with decent promotion, this could be a very big event.
