September Poetry Theme Night -

The Theme Night for Thursday September 27th is "Other Poet's Poetry" read by the coffeehouse poets. If you've attended Open Mic Poetry at Beatnix Coffeehouse and have said to yourself, "Wow, I'd really like to read that original poem of...", then this theme night is for you! Now the original poems can be that of one of the HOT Poets or any of your favorite poets, dead or alive. A suggestion from the crowd this past Thursday was "Rumi, Rumi, Rumi!" OK, I never even heard of Rumi, but since his 800th birthday is this year, I thought it would be cool to honor him and his timeless work. Check out this link on Rumi to learn more about him. Need help narrowing down your choices, or better yet, coming up with a choice or two, check out this website or just google famous poets.

If you'd like to read another Beantix Coffeehouse Poet's poem, then this is the night to do it. If you do not know how to get in touch with a poet whose poem you'd like to read, email me, leave a comment, or contact Beatnix Coffeehouse directly. See ya'll at Open Mic Poetry!
